Bitam Stands Out as BI and BSC Industry Leader – Atos Consulting Report


Recent research conducted by Atos Consulting in Q2 2008, shows that Bitam’s Business Intelligence and Strategic Planning solutions stand out as main players in the EPM industry in Spain, taking leading positions in some segments.
Atos Consulting based its research on internal sources like specific studies and research on products, markets and segments, as well as past diagnoses and benchmarks.  It also considered external sources like Gartner, Forrester, the Internet and others.
This study considered the main software tools in the market including: Bitam, Business Objects, Cognos, MicroStrategy, Oracle-Hyperion and QlickView.
Atos Consulting is a global consulting company with extensive  knowledge in the Spanish market; it also has a wide network of contacts in various   sectors where important references can be mentioned in the horizontal and vertical markets.

As part of the research,  different buying factors were analyzed. Find them with their corresponding weighting  factor in the following table.

According to the Business Intelligence tools survey results Bitam Artus® is listed as a leader in the segment of companies between 100 and 300 employees and shows a strong position in the segment of 300+ workers, where there is no clear leader, in the Public Sector and in the Regulated Sector.

The following table shows the valuation of Bitam Artus for each of the factors and segments. (Scale of 1 to 5, 5 being the highest possible rating).

Artus stands significantly above the rest in the factors of Price / Functionality, Price, Ease of Use, Implementation Time and Maintenance, while presenting a lower appreciation in terms of Brand Image and Confidence in the distributor.
"The results of the Atos Consulting study reinforced the idea that we have the best product based on the best technology and with the most favorable ROI in the market, although we must strengthen the aspects related to the branding and positioning, "said Jenaro Guillen, CEO of Bitam Europe.
In parallel, we analyzed the market for tools focused on the planning and management of the strategy which support diverse methodologies like Kaplan and Norton’s Balanced Scorecard. The tools considered as the most significant were: Bitam Stratego®, Cognos, Infor, Gryphon, SAS and Strategy.

Stratego has a leading position in terms of Price / Functionality, Price, Ease of Use, Implementation Time and Maintenance. However, it shows a weaker position when analyzing the factors associated with Market Positioning, Brand Image and Confidence in the distributor.
