Automating its Daily Operations with Bitam
International is the Mexican Production and distribution channel for International Truck and Engine Corporation, a leading producer of medium trucks, heavy trucks, and severe service vehicles sold under the International brand name and world largest mid-range diesel manufacturer. International Truck and Engine Corporation is the principal operating subsidiary of Navistar (NYSE: NAV). Since 1996, International de Mexico has grown its distribution channel to include 20 dealers nationwide with more than 70 points of sale in Mexico. The company delivered 7000 Class 6 through 8 trucks, including schools buses, in Mexico in 2004, resulting in a combined market share of 29%. In addition, International received the prestigious Double Eagle Award from the US-Mexico Chamber of Commerce for building alliances and strengthening business ties between the United States and Mexico.
Case Study: To streamline and automate its day to day operations, International implemented a Baan ERP application for accounting, sales, inventory and production processes. Upon implementation, International recognized the need for advanced analytical information to support their strategic business decision processes.
During the evaluation process, International selected three primary vendors for review: Bitam, Business Objects and ProClarity, resulting in a final selection of Bitam.
